C’è un grande assente nella società odierna: il desiderio. Ingurgitiamo e ci abbuffiamo di oggetti, ma la capacità di immaginarli, pensarli, attenderli, anche invano, ci è tolta: è il disagio dell’eccesso, che non permette di vivere la mancanza, la vera molla del desiderio. E con esso muore anche la specificità di ogni individuo.

We binge and stuff ourselves with objects yet our ability to fantasize, imagine, think and wait for them (even in vain), has been taken away. This malaise of excess-desire’s trap- is what prevents us from doing without; and with it, every person’s individuality dies as well.
